Transformation Tuesday - Travel

I don't do a lot of traditional traveling ... I'm a stay at home mom so I don't exactly have to go far for business. And we are the parents of young children and my husband just had a career change so we don't go on a lot of vacations for various reasons.

But, the girls and I do enjoy going to visit their GiGi and Dude (my mom and dad) and one of the things I love about at-home workouts is being able to bring them with me. Especially 21 Day Fix ... all I bring is my DVDs and a set of dumbbells.

It isn't easy to keep working out when I'm on "vacation" but I really don't want to lose the good habits I've built up. And experience tells me it wouldn't take nearly as much time or effort to lose them as it has to build them!

My personality tends to be very "all or nothing" with anything I do. Working out for me used to be things like CrossFit, Krav Maga, spending my entire lunch at the gym ... I assumed if I felt faint or nauseated (or even actually vomitted) that it was a great workout. While I still like things like CrossFit and Krav Maga there are two problems:

1. I live in a rural area. There's not a gym within 15 miles. And, that gym certainly doesn't offer childcare. So even if I only worked out at the gym for half an hour, you add an hour round-trip to that and that just isn't sustainable! Nevermind the gas ...

2. Even though there are CrossFit gyms near my parents, I highly doubt they would honor the fees I paid over a hundred miles away. And going back to problem one ... There isn't a CrossFit gym anywhere near me, so it's a moot point.

I also "own" the streaming version of the workouts that I have on DVD. So technically I don't even need my DVDs.

Just like my eating habits, I need my my exercise habits to be low maintenance and easy to maintain. I definitely don't live to exercise ... I exercise to live. I'm so thankful to have found something short, effective, and portable from a company that offers a variety of options so I don't get bored!
